Area Information

Sun City (population about 42) is located in Barber County in South Central Kansas. Zoom in and out on the Sun City Map for detailed viewing.

Sun City is located about 28 miles south of Pratt, 80 miles southeast of Dodge City, and 100 miles southwest of Wichita. Sun City is located near the beautiful Gypsum Hills Scenic Byway.

Sun City is only 20 miles northeast of Medicine Lodge, a notable setting in Kansas History. It is best known for the peace treaty proclaimed between the United States and the Five Tribes of Plains Indians in 1867. Thus, the city commemorates the signing with various monuments and events, such as the Indian Peace Treaty Pageant.
